Make a Splash
An important and fun part of Our Adventure is the opportunity to learn dinghy sailing.

Most of our sailing is at weekends between May and October at Great Moor Sailing Club. We own eleven dinghies (see on the right) and have access to two more scout boats.

Most of our troops/units have at least one RYA qualified instructor - so standards of teaching and safety are high.

Many of our scouts go on to County Sailing Week held every Spring Bank Holiday. We also organise an annual Regatta for Scouts and Explorers and a wet and wild Raft Race competition every summer.

  • Lasers. For the more experienced single sailors we have an Olympic class racing dinghy.

  • Gulls. We have four of these solid two-handed boats. Perfect for beginners.

  • We have two Enterprises. Well suited to Great Moor Sailing Club these are perfect for improvers.

  • 405s. We look after two of these for the County. They are really fast, really wet, really tippy - really great fun!!!!!
