Hill Walking
Hi,
Whether a scout wants to learn just to enjoy the hills, do a DofE expedition, or aspire to obtain a scout or even national qualification - West Herts District has an activity available

We have a number of qualified leaders who support Troop and District camps - giving all scouts the opportunity to join in - and who organise additional weekends for training and assessments.

As part of the Hertfordshire Scout District, we have access to truly great hill walking and mountaineering bases, including Coetmor Mill in Wales and Lochearnhead in Scotland.

Not only do we have access to great facilities, we also have a first class County Mountaineering team that organises a number of mountaineering courses during the year. After gaining basic experience from District hill activities scouts can take a step further and develop new, advanced skills such as Introduction to Mountaineering (IMC) - which is great fun!!

More information on county courses can be found here, or alternatively just email me with any of your hill walking questions.
